He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Adkins; his parents, James Robert Adkins and Ruth Lucy Marie Adkins; and his brothers, Bobby Ray Adkins and Thomas Junior Adkins.
He is survived by: his siblings, George Adkins and Mary Sue Akers; his children, Michael Paul Adkins and Kimberly Dawn Smith; and his pets, Rusty and Molly. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
