He was predeceased by: his parents, Larry Adkins and Janice Roberts (Lushen); and his siblings, William "Spunk" Roberts, Leona White and Joey Roberts.
He is survived by: his son Steven Gillenwater (Tabathia); his siblings, Rita Gillenwater (Bobby), Sam Adkins (Peggy), Jennifer Sanders (James) and Gelie King (John); and his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Logan, Paislee, Olivia, Aubreanna and Stormie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
