He was predeceased by: his father Owen "OJ" Searls; and his sisters, Sandi Lovejoy and Lana Gillenwater. He is survived by: his children, April Roberts (Jesse) of Griffithsville, Michelle Searls of Alkol, Gary Joseph Searls, Jr. (Gary Joe) of Alkol and Shannon Searls of Alum Creek; his mother Katrina Searls of Alkol; and his siblings, Bruce Searls (Beverly) of Alkol, Ron Searls of Mud River, Jay Searls (Robin) of Alkol and Joyce Armstrong (Dale) of Sod. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions toward funeral expenses.
