He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Elmer and Bonnie May Burns Walkup; his son William Joseph "Billy" Walkup, Jr.; and his siblings, Jeff Walkup and Jane Crary.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Maria Phillips Walkup of Alderson; his daughters, Donna Bryars of St. Robert, MO and Bonnie White (Vince); his siblings, Bobby Walkup (Janet) of Alderson, Ruth Bragg of Huntington, WV and Carol Reed (Gary) of Alderson; and his grandchildren, Taylor Bryars, Caleb White (Amy), Jenni Carpenter (Seth), Dylan White, Mandy Quick (Ryan) and Zac Walkup (Bri). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
