He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Dexter Stanley and Sophia Ruth Stanley (Rasnake); his sisters, Gladys Maye Stanley and Shelia Ruth Lewis; his niece Faye Annette Hankins; his former wife Barbara; his children, Melvin Lee Stanley, Jr. (Autumn) of Alderson, Jason Allen Stanley (Melissa) of Alderson and Lisa Dawn Stanley (Michael Ambler) of Alderson; his siblings, Richard Floyd Stanley of Rupert, Okey Ray Stanley of Bruston Mills, Velma Gay Demasi of Acron, OH, Susie Marie Ballard of Roanoke and Virginia Pearl Hankins of Rupert; his granddaughters, Kandice Renee Stanley, Penny Marie Stanley and Emilie Grace Stanley; and his great grandchild Layanna Marie Rush. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
