With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Ellen Reese of Alderson, West Virginia, born in Beckley, West Virginia, who passed away on October 22, 2023 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Ellen Reese to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, French Russell and Hallie Ardene Shanklin Christian; her husband Charles Edward Reese, Sr.; her daughter Barbara Brooks; her grandson Mitchell Lee Phillips; and her siblings, Helen Wedge, Lawrence Christian and Charles Christian.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Edward "Chip" Reese, Jr. of Alderson, Chrissy Harris (Roger) of Alderson, Donna Martin of Lewisburg and Nancy Smith (George) of Alderson; her siblings, Jerry Gable of Peru, Ind. and Mary Dingman of Shelbyville, Ind.; and her grandchildren, David Brooks, Aaron Brooks, Michelle Hill (Jason), Charles Phillips (Dana), Amy Smith, Jason Smith, Keri Crane (Denny), Stacy Shires (Joey) and Stephen Reese McLaughlin. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; special family friend that was like a son, Pat Standard; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
