It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lucy Mae Ballard Smith of Alderson, West Virginia, who passed away on July 26, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Campbell and Louella Waldron Ballard; her husband Mark Edward "Eddie" Smith; her daughter Tammy Smith Skaggs; her siblings, Henry Ike "Bunt" Ballard, Campbell Straton "Strat" Ballard, John Coles Ballard, Patrick Whittle Ballard, Anna Lea Mann, Nelly Gray "Nell" Long, Lilly Belle "Lil" Page, Hazel Grace Heath and Fanny Lorene Ganoe; and her niece Evelyn Miller Eary.
She is survived by: her son-in-law Ernest Lee Skaggs, Jr. of Alderson, W. V; and her nieces, Mildred Grizzard of Durham, N. C., Betty Groves (Sam) of Alderson, W. V and Vicky Ambler (George "Boogie") of Fort Spring, W. V.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines will be observed, with mask and social distancing encouraged.
