He is survived by: his mother Susan Mary Pennington Nelson; his siblings, Tracy Sue Nelson of Suffolk, VA and Ricky Nelson of Alderson; and his nephews, Nathaniel James Nelson, Christian Lee Phillips, Jeremiah Michael Nelson and John Brookman Nelson.
