He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Smith and Hazel Smith; his daughter Christy Lynn Gaikowski; his granddaughter Ivenuia Mollett; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Lesley and Ronnie Turman.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Smith; his children, Michael Mounce of Jonesboro, AK, Paula Smith New of Robinette, Paul H. Smith II (Rowena) of Roanoke, VA, Hazel Mollett (Lafe) of Chapmanville and George T. Smith (Michelle) of Accoville; his grandchildren, Alissa, Haley, Annie, Tony, Katie, Ashley, Daniel, Cameron, Matthew and Braeden; and his sisters, Barbara Lesley, Glenda Carter (Jim) and Brenda Turman. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
