He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Florian "Butch" Merkl and Mary Merkl (Thout); his wife June Willey; his children, Harry Merkl, Tim Merkl (Mattie), Jessica Junk (Howard), John Merkl, Becky Merkl and Cindy Maples; his grandchildren, Nicole Deltour (Bob), Dana Wait (Jeff), Timmie Merkl (Johnny), Christopher Merkl, Luke Junk (Kate) and Lindsay Junk; and his sister Mary Ann Krupka. He was also cherished by many great-grandchildren; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
