He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Hurtgen and Martha Hurtgen; his former wife Betty Clemmens; his parents-in-law, Stanley and Ann Clemmens; his siblings, Carl (Mary), Helmer Hurtgen and Mona Kobeska (Ray); and his brother-in-law Henry Bazille.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, Sue Nawrocki (Bill), Debbie Klanderman (Keith), Terry Hurtgen, Joan Hanson, Don Hurtgen (Carol), Cheryl Symonik (Dan) and Brad Hurtgen (Brenda); his stepchildren, Mike Alexander, Tom Alexander (Theresa), Kevin Alexander (Leigh) and Joleen Alexander; and his siblings, Hank Hurtgen (Ruth), Brian Hurtgen (Marlene) and Nola Bazille. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends.
