He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Thurber and Bernadine Thurber (Landis); his wife Wilma Ann Berg; his stepmother Norma Thurber; his daughter Paula Thurber; and his brother Roger.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald D. Thurber II of Cary, Illinois and Marlene Henry (Mohamed Hassane) of Wisconsin Dells; and his grandchildren, James Thurber, Jeremy Thurber, Rachel Thurber, Samantha Henry, Robert Sowls III (Galina), Cassandra Chenoyth and Emily Thurber (Elo Straus). He is also survived by Great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
