He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Schoonover and Constance Schoonover (Lewis) of Holcombe, Wisconsin.; his sibling-in-law Thurley Gygi; his brother Thomas Schoonover; and his brothers-in-law, Lloyd Johnson, Richard Aaron, Phillip Gygi and Earl Flater.

He is survived by: his child Jody Salt (Cynthia); his wife Sandy (Gygi); his children, Jeffrey of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Jill Kulinski (Brian) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI.; his grandsons, Garrett Schoonover, Connor (Julia) and Evan Kulinski (Callie) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI.; his great grandchildren, Willow and Waylynn Kulinski; his sisters, Lila Johnson (Eau Claire) and Carleen Aaron (Eau Claire); his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schoonover (Eau Claire) and Luella Flater (Ladysmith); his nephews, Mark Schoonover, Terrance Flater and Michael Gygi; and his niece Cheryl Gygi.
