He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, Thomas Dawes (Jane) of Shiocton and Mark Dawes (Kris) of New London; his stepchildren, Val Fiedler (James) of Appleton, Russell DeLeeuw, Ronald DeLeeuw (Laura) and Kaelyn Tyler (Brian True) of Pickerel; his sister Debra Guyette of New London; and his brother-in-law Niles Kettner of Shiocton. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
