September 19, 1930 - December 16, 2017 Richard W. Thode, 87, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away peacefully at Aspirus Riverside Hospital on Saturday, December 16, 2017. He was born to Herbert & Myrtle (Stewart) Thode in Muskego, WI on September 19, 1930. He is survived by his loving wife Darlene (Clark) Thode of 66 years, 3 daughters; Cindy Hayden, with children and grandchildren, Matt (Jennifer), Molly, Gretchen and Colton, Laurie (Scott) Sachtjen, Lilly, William and Emma, Renee (Matthew) Kowalik with children and grandchildren, Jamie (Rick) Daniel, Adam and Ronni, Kelly (Tony) Zelechowski, Johnny, Charli and McKenzie, Lynn Vera, with children and grandchildren, Hannah Vera (Matt), Carmen, Luke, Rebekah and Samuel.
Richard married Darlene Clark on October 6, 1951 in Rochester, WI. He served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany where he went to Radio School. He later in life worked for the City of Muskego, WI for 34 years before retiring. He loved the outdoors and hunting but he especially loved spending time with his family and all his beloved dogs.
Services will be held at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor David Mickelson will be officiating. John J. Buettgen Funeral Home is assisting family at this time.
