He was predeceased by: his parents, John Olsen and Ruby Olsen (Hanifin); his wife Marjorie; his sons-in-law, Randy Ziolkowski, Bruce Lovesee and Scott Thompson; his sister Eleanor O'Keefe; and his brothers-in-law, Donald O'Keefe and Marvin Hahn.

He is survived by: his children, Sally Akavickas (Keith) of Wausau, Douglas Olsen (Lisa Rasmussen) of Wisconsin Rapids, Karen Thompson of Bartlett, IL, David Olsen (Jennifer) of Weston, Ronald Olsen (Linda) of Wisconsin Rapids, Laurie Ziolkowski of Wisconsin Rapids, Jerry Olsen (Julie) of Wisconsin Rapids and Pamela Lovesee (Russ Ginter) of Wisconsin Rapids; his grandchildren, Tammy Nicholson, Erica Olsen, Vanessa Haferman, Ashley Sabo, Lindsey Thompson, Samantha Olsen, Nicholas Olsen, Nolan Olsen, Andrea Blakely, Brandon Ziolkowski, Danielle Sekel, Angela Przybylski and Bradley Olsen; his great grandchildren, Miranda Hoffman, McKaylie Morter, Destiny Crump, Lumen Przybylski and Maggie Ziolkowski; and his sister Dorothy Hahn of Pittsville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and other relatives.
