He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Hoekstra and Edna Hoekstra (Faivre); his wife Betty Hoekstra (Ostrander); his daughters, Cheryl Hoekstra and Joni Jelinski; his granddaughter Jamie Jelinski; and his siblings, Ted Hoekstra, Ken Hoekstra and Georgeanna Finup.
He is survived by: his daughter Richelle Hoekstra-Anderson (John Anderson) of Wisconsin Rapids; his grandchildren, Hillary Anderson (Jordan Driessen) of Appleton, Bethany Anderson of Austin, TX, Jessica Lloyd (Josh) of Almond and Jeffery Jelinski of Wisconsin Rapids; his sister Debbie Dettmer (Rick) of Harvard, IL; his son-in-law Conrad Jelinski; and his pet Max. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider making a donation to the family who will then forward to a beloved ministry which frees Christian slaves working in brick kilns in Pakistan.
