He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Earl and Louise Armagost (Lorenz); his children, Chad and Stephanie; his brother George; his brothers-in-law, Harry Richmond and Robert Brandl; and his niece Susan Zuebella.

He is survived by: his former wife Janet Kissinger; his wife Mary; his children, Richard Jr. Armagost (Deb), Sandra Pawelski (Greg), Linda Olsen (Ron) and Jody Armagost; his grandchildren, Jessica, Bridget, Alexa, Tyler, Megan, Nicholas and Nolan; his siblings, Edna Armagost, Jean Brandl, Laura Richmond and John Armagost (Carol); his sister-in-law Mary Ann Armagost; his stepson Daniel Garcia Sr. (Kathleen); his grandsons, Danny Jr. and David; his stepson Matthew Garcia Sr. (Bernice); and his grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Lilliana, Naya and Faye.

All monetary gifts will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association in Richard's name.
