He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schlimgen and Eleanor Schlimgen (Byrns); his former wife Rose Schlimgen; his stepson Douglas Wettstein; and his sisters, Jeanette Olberding, Beverly Hall, Evelyn McKee and Irene Millar.
He is survived by: his wife Dawn Rumble-Wettstein; his stepdaughters, Tammy Glodoski (John) and Cherie Hanneman (Todd); his stepdaughter-in-law Peggy Wettstein; his stepgrandchildren, Lucas, Andrew, Paul, Sam, Marielle, Ellen and Charlotte; his sisters, Rita Shaw and Lucy Crook; his brothers-in-law, Jeff Millar and Jim McKee; and his friends, Everett and Penny Phile. He is also survived by 10 step great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church (750 10th Ave S, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
