He was predeceased by: his father Gary Symons; his father-in-law Lemar Van Meter; and his brothers-in-law, Jeffery Van Meter and Douglas Van Meter. He is survived by: his mother Lois Symons (Doyle); his wife Debra Symons (Van Meter); his children, Joel McLean, Leah McLean and Melissa Collins (Bryan); his grandchildren, Papa, Mylee McLean and Brooks Collins; his sons, Derek Symons and Casey Symons; his mother-in-law Eleanor "Ma" Van Meter; his siblings-in-law, Tim Van Meter (Sandy), William Van Meter (Linda), David Van Meter (Connie), Julie Van Meter, Cindy Van Meter and Linda Brost; and his siblings, Greg Symons (Diane), Terri Madden (Tim), Matthew Symons (Kimberly) and Marci Friis (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and many friends.

A healthy and vital man, Mark fought for nearly a month before losing his life due to complications from Covid-19.
