He was predeceased by: his parents, Dryden Piatt and Marion Piatt (Maloney); and his sisters, Claire Piatt, Marjorie Garlick and Mary Lu Kjer.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Phillip; his children, Mary Sabo (Jim), James Piatt (Ann), Barb Piatt (Mike Kain), Joseph Piatt (Traci), Bob Piatt (Jill) and Joan Piatt; his grandchildren, Jill Punzel (Matt), John Sabo, Kori Gerrow, Heidi Disher (Matt), Aliana Piatt, Sadie Piatt, Jamie Piatt, William John Piatt, John Patrick Kain, McKenna Kain, Kelli Smoker (Eric), Benjamin Piatt, Samual Piatt, Katie Krueger and Abby Bowe (Issac); his great grandchildren, Taylor Sabo, Austin Punzel, Blakely, Dillon Disher and Rory Sabo; and his sister Catherine Thomas (David).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's name to Assumption High School or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
