He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Olson and Averil Olson (Newton); his wife Barbara Dzielski; his son Scott; and his siblings, Roy Olson (Eleanor), Shirley Hejmanowski (Leo) and James Olson.
He is survived by: his children, Steven, Michael (Raquel), Kevin Oganovich (Tiffany) and Sandra (Teri Court); his brother Philip Olson of Keller, TX; and his grandchildren, Jesse, Ashley, Kyla, Austin, MyLee, Alyson, Morgan, Alyssa, Kinley and Micah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Chicago Police Memorial Fund.
