He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Erickson and Ebba Erickson (Larson); his former wife Elaine Schneider (Kester); and his siblings, Rachel Schneider, Richard, Marvin, Oscar, James, Robert and Alvin.
He is survived by: his children, Mitchell, John (Rai Simonson), Glenda (Mark Roberts) and Kirk (Heather); his grandson Lukas; his stepchildren, Douglas Schneider (June), Cynthia Kapellusch (Wayne), LaWanda Schneider and Sheila Schneider; his siblings, Mary Zimmerman, Gary (Michaleen) and Tom (Cindy); and his sister-in-law Loretta Erickson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
