He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Getlinger and Martha Getlinger (Gumz); his siblings, Jane Runnels (Brice) and Ray Getlinger; and his brother-in-law Dr. Stephen Graves.

He is survived by: his siblings, Vernon Getlinger (Mary Jane) and Melda Graves. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
