He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Oleson and Mildred Oleson (Phillips); and his siblings, Larry, Neal and Shirley (Jerry Marquardt).
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Peterson; his children, Matthew (Tammy) and Carrie (Don); his grandchildren, Kyle (Hannah), Tasha (Andy), Trevor (Katie) and Jacob; his great grandchildren, Marrianna, Raena, Isabella, Amelia and Loren; and his siblings, Robert (Judy), Michael (Karen) and Wendy (Ronald). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
