He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Ernst; his sons, Jason Ernst (Christine) and Andrew Ernst; his granddaughter Norah Ernst; his siblings, James Ernst (Catherine), Michael Ernst (Christine), David Ernst (Kathy) and Stacy Ernst (Gia); and his brother-in-law Harold Demes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
