He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hess and Hannah Hess; his wife Joyce L. Hess; his daughter Linda; his son-in-law Rand Edholm; and his great grandchildren, Natalie and Alex Timm.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Timm (John), Bonnie Edholm and Randy Hess (Kathy Drewek). He is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
