Charles F. Schneider Obituary

Charles F. Schneider, age 82, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Charles was born on February 18, 1941 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Carlton and Marian (Ruwoldt) Schneider. He graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was united in marriage to Kay Klingbeil on June 1, 1963 in Tigerton, Wisconsin they were blessed with 60 years of marriage.
He started his apprenticeship at Consolidated Paper Incorporation and worked as a journeyman millwright and retiring after 40 plus years.
Charles truly loved his family and was always there when they needed him. He especially liked attending all of the grandchildren’s activities and cheering them on. He enjoyed going camping up north with his family to Bolder Junction, Wisconsin for over 30 years. Charles had a love for food and could never pass up on a Friday fish fry, a good hamburger, a bowl of chili, or his brother-in-law’s famous peanut butter pie. In his younger years he was a member of the Deer Hunters Club in Winchester, Wisconsin. He also was on a couple’s league bowling team in Appleton with his wife for several years. Charles had a gift of being a great story teller and could talk for ever about anything and everything. He had a soft spot in his heart for his dogs and enjoyed daily walks him them.
He is survived by his loving wife Kay, children: Brenda (Carlos) Garza, Steven (Annette) Schneider, Kristine (Pat) Buss; grandchildren: Max, Alej, Jennifer, Kayla; several greatgrandchildren: niece Molly and nephew Eric; sister Paula (Wayne) Banaszak.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carlton and Marian Schneider.
