He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew "Casey" and Nila Gorges (Wangelin); and his sister Donna Frei. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Christian of Fox Crossing; his daughter Dana Gillespie (Chris) of Neenah; his grandchildren, Brittney of Oshkosh, Jessica of Neenah and Dylan of Neenah; his great grandchildren, Adrian, Gabriel, Danny, Noah and Olivia; his children, Wendy Ziebell (Jeff) of Oshkosh and Gary Jr. (Melanie) of Oshkosh; his granddaughters, Evelyn and Lily; and his brother LeRoy Gorges (Bonnie) of Appleton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and friends.
