He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm Tewes and Anna Tewes (Hahn); his wife Shirley Joan Ranzenberger; his parents-in-law, Frank and Caroline Ranzenberger; and his siblings, Martin Tewes and Alma Kruse.
He is survived by: his grandchild Allis Chalmers; his children, David Tewes (Linda), Caroline Housker (Richard), Mark Tewes (Dawn) of Caledonia, William Tewes (Tonya) of Eitzen, Paul Tewes, Geraldine Meyer (Michael) of Caledonia, Ruth Hageman (Alan) of Decorah, Esther Schneekloth (Ralph) of Mabel, MN, Shirley Vickerman Caledonia (Todd Serres) and Christopher Tewes (Whitney) of Preston, MN.; his close friend Arlene Gade of EItzen, MN.; his siblings-in-law, Bernice Glasrud Spring Grove, Hazel Knies Preston Mn, Jan, Frank Ranzenberger Caledonia (Helen) and Burdell Ranzenberger; and his son-in-law Shannon Vickerman. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
