He was predeceased by: his grandson Paul Noth; his son-in-law Morry Waege; his brothers, Jim Arndt, Verne Arndt and Carl Arndt; and his brother-in-law Dale Wallace.
He is survived by: his wife Betty of Wilton; his daughters, Joan Affeldt (Glenn), Darlene Diekrager, Jenny Waege, Sandy Noth (David) and Carol Bernhardt (Robert Thelen); his grandchildren, David Affeldt (Justine), Kurt Diekrager, Brian Diekrager, Brenda Pohlman (Martin), Emily Lasko (Cory), Sarah Johnson, John Noth (Katy), Kaleb Bernhardt and Brooke Berhardt; his great grandchildren, Chasity, Logan, Madison, Gracelyn, Madelynn, Gabriela and Bentley; his siblings, Martin Arndt (Julitta), Lois O'Rourke (Gordon), Arlis Balwahn (Larry), Jack Arndt (Mary Ann) and Leonard Arndt (Dixie); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Arndt, Alice Strohmeyer (Hank) and Duane Wallace (Carlene). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Bernard.
