He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Belter and Marlene Belter (Hausen); and his brother Richard Belter. He is survived by: his wife Janis Niebuhr; his children, Jason Belter (Liberty) and Margretta "Maggie" Belter; his stepchildren, Taira Schultz-Fuller (Tony) and Mark Schultz (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Grier Belter, Kathryn Schultz-Fuller, Clayton Fuller, Allison Belter and Liliana Schultz.
