He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Kolka and Barbara Kolka (Blaha); his siblings, George and Evelyn; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly and Patricia.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Wrage; his children, Cheryl Pionke (Duane), Kathy VandeCastle (Mark) and Darrin Kolka; his grandchildren, Tony VandeCastle (Rachel Nett), Aaron VandeCastle, Alec VandeCastle and Braelyn Pionke; and his brother Jim Kolka. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

“Lois and family-- So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was a good man and a dedicated catholic, husband, father, grandfather,etc. We didn't know him that well but admired him for who he was and what he stood for. I have a medical procedure on monday at 9:30 in Wisconsin Rapids so will not physically be there, but we will be praying for him and your family. May he rest in peace. Lloyd & Ceil Lewallen”
