He was predeceased by: his siblings, Robert and Carol; and his brother-in-law Doug Turley. He is survived by: his wife Susan Hanekamp (Steck); his siblings, Mike Hanekamp (Tina) and Ann Manzella; his sister-in-law Rebecca Turley; his nephew Stephen Hanekamp (Alyssa); his niece Michelle Marshall (Jon); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Emily, Makenzie, Caitlyn, Tucker and Tanner. He is also survived by his family for his love of his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request a donation be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center in memory of John.
