He is survived by: his wife Laurel Qualley of Whitehall; his children, Robert Wayne Runkel of La Crosse and Laura Jo Runkel of Rochester, Minnesota; and his siblings, Robert Wayne Runkel (Mary) of Helena, Montana, Mary Margaret Runkel Moehring of Independence and Anne Gierok (Peter) of Independence. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
