He was predeceased by: his husband Nancy A. Beutel. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Samant (Marisabel), Scott Samant (Darlene) and Christine Hope Samant (Gautam); his grandchildren, Abigail, Nathan, Gina, Anabel and Lucie; his sister Sue (Gerry); his brother-in-law David (Sue); his niece Kim (Fritz); and his nephews, Ted (Karen), Paul (Elisabeth), Michael (Sarah), Fred and Eric.
