She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Grefe and Verda Grefe (Swenson); her parents-in-law, Erling and Helen Olson; and her siblings-in-law, Sheila Olson and Harold Rooker.
She is survived by: her husband Donald Olson; her children, Laura Doebereiner (Ryan), Virginia Welle (Jacob) and Peter Olson (Meghan); her grandchildren, Emily, Abigail, Owen Doebereiner, Anton and Aericka Olson; her siblings, Robert Grefe, Donald Grefe (Christine) and Margaret James; her siblings-in-law, Dennis Olson and Diane Rooker; her sister Pat; and her brother-in-law Orland Bygd. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorials to honor Gail's memory be made to the Lutheran World Relief organization to support the "Quilts and Kits" ministry.
