He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Hartzke and Alice Hartzke (Goetsch); and his son Bob. He is survived by: his spouse Eris Behm; his sons, Tom (Diane) and Stan (Josie); his great grandchild Tim Hartzke; his daughter Katherine; and also, Dixie, Carter, Emily Nikolai (Michael), Sam, Vin, Jay, Elizabeth Hysen (Matt), Jennifer Keller (Tom), Blaine, Gabi, Charlee, Justice, Brian Hartzke (Cindy), Luke Hartzke, Autumn, Clint Hartzke (Brenda), Caliber, Katera and Judy Hill. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
