He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Reinhold Nehring and Esther Nehring (Yohr); his wife Betty Bachmann; his children, James Nehring (Kathleen), Alex, Megan and Daniel Nehring (Jennifer); his granddaughters, Sara and Madelyn; his siblings, Carlton Nehring (Bonnie), Gary Nehring (Sharon), Joann Behm (Orville), Arlene Sebstead (Doug), Sandy Wolfe (Gary), Monica Larsen (Ken) and Kay Niven (Dave); and his siblings-in-law, Irma Zabel and Jerome Zabel. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
