He was predeceased by: his father Francis Hanes; his parents-in-law, George Haase and Audrey Seegers (Herman); his sisters, Marilyn Larson, Pat Schuelke, Fran "Honey" Moeller and Sharon Ferge; and his brother-in-law Robert Haase.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Haase; his children, Heath Hanes (Barb) and Shelly Fuhs (Cary); his grandchildren, Alizabeth Hanes, Scott Nett (Victoria), Dustin Hanes (Stephanie), Dakota Nett, Brandon Hanes, Caitlin and Conner Fuhs; his great grandchildren, Emma, Alena Nett and Aurora Hanes; and his siblings-in-law, Merrill Larson, Leo Haase, Dave Haase, Roger Haase, Dennis Haase (Cindy), Marcella Schmidt (Ronald) and Mary Fahser (Roger). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
