It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsa M. Miller of West Salem, Wisconsin, born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Harold Backer and Margaret Backer (Stegeman); her brother Duane; and her uncle Charlie. She is survived by: her husband Gary Miller of John's Lutheran Church; her children, Pamela Wehrs (Scott), Paul Miller (Lynn), Tim Miller (Joan Neinas) and Mark Miller (Jacqueline); her grandchildren, Allyson, Mariah, Austin (Tanner), Karyn, Sean (Lora), Todd (Tina), Nick, Garrett, Patrick, Hunter, Alex, Madison and Jonathan; and her sisters, Ruth Glaeske (Vials), Myrna Mahnke (Jon) and Mary Schlicht (Richard). She is also survived by siblings and their spouses; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Christ Ev. Lutheran Church or to Christ St. John's Ev. Lutheran School.
