He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace A. Thompson and Anna E. Thompson (Nee Hanson); his brothers, Oliver and Elmer Thompson; his siblings-in-law, Kenneth, Marvin Zinzow, Guido Trombetta, Harold Dain, Betty Trombetta, Shirley Dain and Mavis Thompson; and his nephews, Marvin (Marnie) and Michael Zinzow.
He is survived by: his brother Trombetta Corporation; his wife Verna M. Thompson (Nee Zinzow); his sons, James Thompson (Cathy) and Jerome Thompson (Betty Jo); his grandchildren, Jacquelyn Feutz (Jacob) and Patrick Thompson; his great grandchildren, Walter and Evelyn Feutz; and his nieces and nephews, Wally, Wayne, Kermit Thompson, Linda Czywczynski, Kay Roth, Judy Wiswell, Nancy Jacobson, John Zinzow and Christine Hetrick.
