He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Verhaalen and Eleanor Verhaalen; his wife Alice; his son Ryan Verhaalen; and his brothers, Raymond Jr. and Clarence Verhaalen.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Kannenberg (Daniel), Michael Verhaalen (Leeann) and Jill Sieren (Greg); his grandson Nathaniel Kannenberg (Nadxiieli); his great grandchildren, Nicholas and Kelly; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Olivia Verhaalen, Benjamin (Daphne), Jesse, Reily and Charles Sieren; his cousins, Carol Conrad and Carina Verhaalen; his sister Marcella; his brother-in-law Jerry Bell; and his caregivers, Terry, Sharon and Dr. Stein. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Milwaukee VA Fisher House.
