We are sad to announce that on April 17, 2023, at the age of 78, Joan B. Hetzel of West Bend, Wisconsin, born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Stimes and Elizabeth Stimes; her husband Donald Hetzel; her grandson Hunter; her siblings, Lee Stimes and Rachel Stimes; and her stepsiblings, Robert, Eugene Herber and Patricia Lohse.

She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Hetzel (Joseph Pollard) and Kristin Hetzel (Aaron Baker); her stepdaughter Dawn Carter (Jerry); her grandchildren, Collin, Jade, Haylee, Presley, Trevor, Alyssa, Caleb, Michael and Lisa; her sister Carol Gahagan (late Donald); her stepsisters, Marlys Lohr (Frank) and Karen Murphy (late John Michael); and her sister-in-law Betty Stimes. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ozaukee Masonic Lodge.

“I just found the obituary on the computer after seeing a shorter version in the Ozaukee Press. Joan and I had a special relationship as her mother was married 35 years to my father. She was always the sweetest young girl, and we looked forward to getting together. Even many years later, we still kept in touch when she and Don lived in Texas and when she moved to West Bend. We would visit her whenever we got to that area and kept in contact with each other through cards. Card in mail.”
