He was predeceased by: his wife Carol; and his siblings, Scott and Kimberly Murphy. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Michelle Schulist, Tammy Gamble and Terry Schulist; his grandchildren, Tiffany Schulist, Krystal Owens, Jacob Schulist, Ryan Boche, Brandon Gamble, Abigail Gamble and Madeline Schulist; his great grandchildren, Mila Harris, Kylee, Aydan, Bentlee, Zane, Mackenzie, Paige and Amelia Lewis; his stepmother Lucy Murphy; his sister-in-law Jane Murphy; his nieces and nephews, Kelly-Anne Murphy, Sarah Murphy-Ruiz, Sean Murphy and Justin Murphy; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Julius and Lilianna Ruiz. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
