He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne; his parents, Preceding and Rev. Adolph Kappes Sr. (Ella); his brothers, Stephen Kappes, Timothy Kappes and Thomas Kappes; and his siblings-in-law, Edith Coron (Bill), Betty Chapman (Joe), Jean Sandstrom (Bob), Leroy Paluszynski, Ron Blair and Marilyn (Kappes).
He is survived by: his children, David Kappes, Therese Hatch (David), Mark Kappes (Debbie), Joel Kappes (Tammy), Jonathan Kappes, Celeste Zembinski (Robert), Jason Kappes (Juanita) and Kenton Kappes (Debbie); his grandchildren, Ryan (Abby), Bret Hatch (Erin), Alicia Allen (Chase), Stephan (K. Lyn), Caitlin (Ricky Leon), Austin, Brittany (Jesse Matusek), Aaron, Boyd, Bryce, Tristian (Dahlia Cole), Nathan, Natasha Kappes (Adam Hessenthaler), Tara and Ethan Zembinski; his great grandchildren, Finn, Nora, Bree, Aliyah Hatch, Orion, Odessa Leon, Harmony, Apollos Kappes, Saoirse, Oona, Reuel Allen, Talan and Jade Matsuek; his siblings, Paul, Verner, Carl, John Kappes (Carol), Elvira Angeletti (Richard), Carol Blair and Judy Paluszynski; and also John. He is also survived by many nieces, cousins, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church would be appreciated.
