He was predeceased by: his son Francois R. Betty, Jr.; his siblings, Jean-Guy Betty and Bernadette Langlois; his brother-in-law Robert Doucette; and his parents, Napoleon Betty and Dorothy Betty (Lemay).

He is survived by: his wife Elaine J. Betty (Doucette); his children, Jean-Paul Betty (Karen) of Webster, Denise Gionet (Dave) of Oxford, Monique Tripaldi (Richard Hall) of Millbury, Michelle Budney (Christopher) of Webster, Nadine Donahue (Derek) of Dudley, Rachel Betty (Jeffrey Bahr) of Wethersfield and Danielle Nuttall (Darrin) of Webster; and his pets, Winnie and Coco. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers and 5 sisters; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
