He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Jacob; his parents, Jerald Sargent and Karen Sargent (Olson); his son Paul Sargent; his sister Stephanie Fox (Steve); his nephews, Samuel, Elliot and Leo; his grandmother Lorraine; his aunts and uncles, Sandy Langer (Mick), Mary Olson, David Olson (Linda "Waldo" Longsdorf) and Jay Sargent (Carol); his grandparents, Howard Olson, Ethel and James Sargent; and his uncles, Art, Dale, Jack and Steve Olson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Brian's sons, Jacob and Paul Sargent are preferred.
