Wendy Fairweather Obituary
Wendy Fairweather, age 69, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025. Wendy was the proud mother of Stacy (Eric) Calcagnino and Scott Laskowski and the loving Granny of her cherished grandson, Julian Calcagnino. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Fairweather, in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her loving and adored mother, Joyce Cepelka, in 2006.Wendy is survived by countless friends who will remember her fondly.
Wendy dedicated her life to nursing, caring for sick and elderly patients with unwavering compassion and kindness. Her patients and colleagues held her in high regard and deeply appreciated her warm and caring nature. After retiring from nursing, Wendy began working part-time as a cashier at Ace Hardware in Elm Grove, WI, where she formed lasting friendships and enjoyed her time with her team.
Wendy was an avid animal lover and was never without a dog in her home. She rescued her dog Finn several years ago and he was her beloved companion.
Wendy had a creative spirit and a passion for crafting. She lovingly created jewelry, candles, and crocheted baby gifts for the children of her friends and family. With her kind heart and genuine joy in spending time with loved ones, Wendy brought warmth and light to those around her. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Wauwatosa on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. A private burial will take place on Wednesday, January 15. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lucky Mutts Rescue in Milwaukee, WI, are suggested.
