Roylee Ross Pflughoeft Obituary
Roylee Ross Pflughoeft was born August 4, 1923 in Virginia, Illinois but spent most of her long life in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She passed after a short illness on June 7, 2024.
Roylee attended Blackburn and Milwaukee Downer Colleges and had a short career as an Occupational Therapist before marrying Frederick August Pflughoeft in 1948. Together they had 67 years, three children and many travels and holidays shared with family members including their sisters and nieces and nephews. Roylee was an avid curler and competed in many bonspiels with husband Fritz as well as in ladies' and open events, the last being in 2019. She was also a talented needlewoman making stitcheries and quilts.
Roylee was known for her habit of standing on her head each birthday through the age of 95. She was also famous for the black raspberry jelly-making tradition which started with her mother and continues in the family to this day.
Roylee was predeceased by her husband Frederick August Pflughoeft and her two sisters Eloise Ross Dooling and Marjorie Ross Roman. Roylee is survived by her three children Jane Plowman, Martha (Bill Klinner) and John (Amy); four grandchildren Rachel Klinner Mildbrand (Thomas), Peter Klinner (Jackie), Lauren Pflughoeft (Danny Hanson) and Dana Pflughoeft; and four great grandchildren Carly and Graham Mildbrand and Lily and Jordan Klinner; and many nieces and nephews.
